Booking Terms and Conditions

In order to confirm our customer’s booking, Africa Nova Travel requires a deposit of 30% of the payment on the time of confirmation. If payment is not made, the reservation will be automatically canceled. The remaining balance must be paid within 8 weeks (60 days) before the start date of the client’s trip. Reservations made within 8 weeks (60 days) before departure are subject to full prepayment at the time of booking confirmation.

Please note that if your trip has been quoted in foreign currency and you wish to settle the payment by credit card, your quote will be converted to South African Rands (ZAR) prior to processing the transaction due to foreign exchange regulations by the South African Reserve Bank. The exchange rate on the day that the transaction is processed will be used to determine the equivalent amount of rands with any resulting exchange differences or bank charges charged to the customer’s account.

South African companies are prohibited by the South African Reserve Bank from accepting payments by foreign credit card and from receiving payment in foreign currency. In this way, the payment must be converted into South African rands before being credited to the recipient.

Customers can settle payment via bank transfer. In this case, the amount will be converted by your bank agents upon presentation of our invoice. It is the customer’s responsibility to inform and instruct their bank agents that the net amount of the invoice must equal the funds released in the Africa Nova Travel bank account and that all bank charges are at the customer’s expense.

Flights and payment
In the event that flights are booked and guaranteed by Africa Nova Travel on behalf of the customer, payment must be made by credit card due to the waiting time to receive the funds when paying by bank transfer.

In addition, when booking flights with Africa Nova Travel, copies of passports will be requested from all passengers. Airlines require the full names of passengers as printed on passports and will not accept changes after tickets are issued.

This measure is a security procedure that will ensure that there are no discrepancies. In view of this, Africa Nova Travel is not responsible for incorrect passport numbers or incorrect spelling of full names. Make sure to provide accurate information to your Africa Nova travel consultant.

Our standard cancellation policy:
  • Cancellation before 8 weeks of travel: customer forfeits the deposit of 30% of the total value of the trip
  • Cancellation 8 to 4 weeks before travel: customer forfeits 50% of the total cost
  • Cancellation less than 4 weeks before the trip: customer forfeits 100% of the total cost of the trip

Passports and children
Anyone traveling to South Africa must have two consecutive blank pages in their passport, next to each other when the passport is open (ie one page on the left and one on the right).

Passengers traveling to Southern Africa with passports that do not meet these requirements will be prevented from boarding the plane and will risk deportation upon arrival in the southern part of the continent.

In addition, a parent traveling with children without the other parent will need a letter of consent from the absent parent or guardian. The letter of consent must be certified by the police.
